Helen Lack

Helen Lack, winner of the Botticelli International Award 2019 is an artist who belongs to a current of abstraction that is close to the movement of Abstract Expressionism. Her work reveals her interest in astronomy and cosmic activity. It is part of a movement of thought that gives a preponderant place to the influence of the celestial system on human energies. The collection of her works clearly refers to the system of analogies in the Universe with her series on the Elements: "Chaos", "Damage on earth", "Barbed wires", "Energy part 1", "Explosion". In her abstract paintings, Helen Lack creates a cellular organization of matter, giving us a pictorial representation of our universe. Deploying borrowed textures of heterogeneous density, she develops panels showing full of vibration, passion and a movement of energetic light. She has exhibited at the Gordon Craig Theater in April 2017 at Stevenage on the theme of Natural Elements, at the gallery Espacio in London on the theme of unconventionality called "between the lines".

Her work is inspired by the pictorial technique of Jackson Pollock. The successive layers she applies to the canvas create a thick finish full of extravagance and complexity. Visionary, she reveals a pictorial map of the atmosphere giving us the gift of accessing the visual awareness of what the universe contains of abstract. Like the master of Abstract Expressionism, she uses similar techniques that pour paint through projection processes, like the flow of lava from volcanoes. Her works are part of a fusion / explosion dialectic. Color assures a dynamic role and accomplishes the movement of abstract form in Helen Lack's artistic practice.

Adopting techniques such as dripping or pouring, it makes the use of the brush obsolete, making body with the material. Aesthete of the fluids, she reinterprets the formula of Jackson Pollock who affirmed "I am the Nature". She extends it by the same consciousness to highlight what makes the Work of the Creator powerful.Privileging the relief of the touch, Helen Lack sets the table with the objectivity of appearances to show us the representation of the original world once. Her work is built on an intuitive sense of lighting. Discursive in its abstract processes, it is illustrated in a material principle of the structure of color.
