An exhibition bringing together at the Saint-Florentin d'Amboise church, a painter and a sculptor from Tours Fred Chabot and Laurent Bouro takes place until October 7, 2018. In the chiaroscuro of the nave, the sculptures of Fred Chabot , a metallurgical artist, respond with the same tragic tension to Laurent Bouro's paintings. Both leading a research on material and matter, Fred Chabot and Laurent Bouro develop a pictorial and sculptural vocabulary imbued with a mystical questioning.
The work of Fred Chabot focuses on highlighting the line, the reverse of the curve and the sense of shapes. Mythology and animal profiles appear as his favorite subjects. These include steel sculptures: Icare 2, Zoo Fashion, Reptilique or Horse Head that emotionally restructure the space of the nave. The verticality of his work gives his works a dimension of solidity and energy.

A seasoned welder, his steel structures bear witness to an undeniable artistic mastery. They display an aesthetic of juxtaposition, the combination of steel plates creating geometric voids. A care given to the form that accentuates the art of detail.
Laurent Bouro exhibits portraits devoid of looks whose pictorial depth is placed under the sign of the mask.
The subjects deliberately express inflexibility imprinted with an impenetrable density. At the crossroads of street art movements and Expressionism, her painting displays a writing that is centered on the exploration of the material.
