From 6 to 20 October 2018
64th fair of independent artists of Basse Normandy
Marie Laure Richir, president of the association "Independent Artists of Basse-Normandie" gathered at the Abbey men of Caen from October 6 to October 20, 2018 54 artists from Lower Normandy. The association, which has existed since 1954 and which includes 86 artists from Basse-Normandie, organizes each year its salon in the prestigious room of the Scriptorium at Caen City Hall.

Thematic and stylistic freedom was the order of the day. Anne-Laure Richir, curator of the exhibition "Paintings and sculptures" chose the theme of free inspiration as a source of artistic creativity to inaugurate this 64th fair of independent artists of Basse-Normandie.
Among the selected artists from Normandy were Françoise Charpentier, Judikahel, Colette Colin, Jacques Esnouf, ACCAD and Max Harriau. 101 works were presented to the public.

Max Hariau Bacchus, sculpture en métal
The scenography of the exhibition gave a central place to the sculptures of Max Harriau whose bust of Bacchus offers a modern reinterpretation of the great figures of ancient mythology.
Colette Collin presented an abstract wall panel with concise geometric shapes at the entrance of the exhibition as a thematic gateway to the philosophical issues of today's technological world.
The narrative universe of Judikhael's paintings was associated with the theme of the sea. Still life with 2 fish, chosen above to illustrate the 64th Salon d'Automne, independent artists from Basse-Normandy evoked the atmosphere both playful and trivial of the pictorial themes dedicated to the artist.
